Governors' Trophy for Club Performance Competition

Approved by the Dalmatian Club of America
Effective April 24, 1999

Sponsored by the Board of Governors of the DCA.

The competition is open to all regional clubs and their members. The awards will be given to the club that accumulates the highest total score for points awarded to its members in performance events. Performance events include all Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Road Trail.

Rules

  1. Each competitor must be a member of record of the club they represent.
  2. Each competitor can only compete for one club, and must declare the club they are representing prior to the start of competition.
  3. It is the responsibility of each winner to report their wins to the individual designated to keep score.
  4. Points will be awarded for class placements (qualifying score or equivalent required) according to the following point schedule. To earn the specified number of points, the following minimum number of dogs must be in competition:
Agility, Obedience (regular), Rally, Road Trial)
First Place 10
Second Place 9
Third Place 8
Fourth Place 7
High in Trial and High Combined earn an additional 10 points each. (High in Trial in Agility is "not" included).
A qualifying score in each event (including passing the Coaching Certificate Test) that is not a placement earns 6 points.


Obedience (non-regular)
First Place 5
Second Place 4
Third Place 3
Fourth Place 2
The equivalent of a qualyfing score in a non-regular class that is not a placement earns 1 point. A "qualifying score" will be the same as for regular obedience classes - a minimum score 170 and at least 50% of the points available in each exercise.
In classes with multiple-dog entries (brace and team), only one awarding of points will be made, either for placement or qualifying. Team members' who belong to different clubs will decide how to distribute the allotted points.


Tracking
TD or TDX pass 10


The trophy will be awarded at the annual dinner to the club who has earned the most points. The trophy will be kept with the club for the following year and will be engraved with the clubs name prior to awarding the next years winner.
